In order to ensure traffic order and safety, limit accidents and congestion in key areas, the Traffic Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police has just sent a recommendation to transportation businesses and drivers who regularly travel through Nguyen Van Linh - Phu My bridge route towards Cat Lai port and Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway.
According to recent records, the Phu My bridge area often has phenomena of vehicles stalling, especially trucks, tractors, containers... when going down the bridge slope. The main reason is that the bridge has a large slope, slow traffic and many vehicles run out of fuel in between, leading to engine failure and prolonged congestion.
Phu My Bridge is considered a vital traffic route connecting neighboring port areas and provinces, serving freight transport activities in the city. Therefore, the congestion in this area not only affects traffic but also causes great economic damage.
The Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Police Department recommends that transportation businesses proactively notify drivers, and at the same time require careful inspection of vehicles, especially fuel systems, before traveling through this area. Providing adequate fuel and ensuring stable operation of machinery will contribute significantly to maintaining traffic order and safety, minimizing the risk of traffic jams on Phu My bridge.
