Hanoi - People flock back to the Capital to study and work after the New Year holiday, causing congestion at the southern gateway.

In the afternoon of January 4, many people in provinces and cities returned to Hanoi to prepare for work and study after the 4-day New Year holiday.

According to reporters' records, from 4 pm, the flow of vehicles began to increase high on National Highway 1A (section passing Nuoc Ngam Bus Station) towards the city center.

The number of vehicles is increasing, causing traffic jams stretching nearly 1km, most of the cars and motorbikes from Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa provinces... returning to the city after the holiday.

Today, people returning to Hanoi are very crowded, local congestion occurred in front of the Nuoc Ngam bus station area. It took me about 15 minutes to get through the Ngoc Hoi - Giai Phong intersection" - Mr. Tran Van Huy (38 years old, from Ninh Binh) said.

To limit congestion, functional forces are strengthened at intersections, actively diverting and regulating traffic so that people returning to Hanoi can be most convenient.

At the same time, on the Phap Van - Cau Gie highway, cars more than 3km long rushed towards the city center. Local congestion sometimes occurred due to the surge in traffic.

Functional forces must strengthen traffic diversion and guidance for vehicles to avoid congestion between straight traffic and turning to Ring Road 3 intersection.

It is forecasted that from this afternoon to tonight (January 4), traffic will heat up at the southern gateway leading to Hanoi as people will continue to return to the city after the New Year holiday.

To ensure safe and convenient travel from localities to Hanoi, representatives of the Hanoi Traffic Police Department recommend that transport businesses, drivers, vehicle owners and traffic participants strictly comply with the provisions of law on traffic order and safety when traveling on national highways, expressways, inner city roads and routes to and from the Capital.

For passengers using passenger cars and public passenger transport vehicles, it is necessary to proactively book tickets early, do not take buses along the road, avoiding the risk of unsafety, being pressured on fares, and carrying more people than prescribed.

Individual vehicle drivers are advised to proactively travel time and limit going during peak hours.

Before departure, it is necessary to carefully check the technical condition of the vehicle, proactively build a suitable route, and regularly update traffic conditions to choose a safe direction.

The Traffic Police Department - Hanoi City Police requests people to seriously comply with the guidance of functional forces, contributing to ensuring traffic order and safety and smooth traffic in the Capital.

It's a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit.
