On the afternoon of August 8, the Military Command of Da Nang City (CHQS) said that search and rescue forces in Da Nang City had rescued the second victim in the case of 4 people being swept away by waves while taking photos in the Mui Nghe area, Son Tra peninsula. Currently, forces are urgently searching for 2 missing people.
According to initial information, at more than 6 am on the same day, a group of 6 people walked to the Mui Nghe area to take pictures. While taking pictures, 4 people were swept out to sea by waves, including: Truong Thi Phuong (born in 2002), Mai Thi Phuong (born in 2002), Tran Thi Anh Duong (born in 2002) and Nguyen Thai (born in 1996).
At 7:30 am, Son Tra Border Guard Station received a report from people.
Immediately after that, the Da Nang City Military Command directed the City Border Guard Command, Son Tra Ward Military Command, and the Standing Militia Flotilla to urgently deploy forces and vehicles; coordinate with Naval Region 3, City Police, fire prevention and fighting and rescue forces, Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center Region II and functional forces to organize searches. Fishing boats of fishermen operating near the area were also mobilized to participate in the rescue.

At about 8 am, fishing vessel DNa 37141-TS of Mr. Nguyen Phu Hong, residing in Son Tra, discovered and rescued Mr. Nguyen Thai. The victim was then handed over to SAR vessel 274 for medical care and stable health.
Search work was deployed urgently and synchronously at sea and along the coastal area. Nearly 100 officers, soldiers and people along with many vehicles were mobilized to participate, including ship HQ-629 of Naval Region 3; ship ĐNa-91222-TS of the Standing Militia Flotilla; SAR 274, CN-03 ship; vehicles of the Border Guard and fishing boats of fishermen.
At about 2 pm, the forces on crew of ship HQ-629, Naval Region 3 discovered and rescued Ms. Truong Thi Phuong in the area more than 2 nautical miles from Mui Nghe. The victim was brought onto the ship for care, and her health was stable.

Currently, the Da Nang City Military Command continues to direct forces to maintain troops and vehicles, closely coordinate with functional units; expand the search area at sea combined with coastal surveys, making efforts to search for two missing victims Mai Thi Phuong and Tran Thi Anh Duong.
