Around 17h on April 15, during the patrol and control task in the Ka Long River area, officials and soldiers of the unit discovered a person being swept away by the water.
Immediately, the Steering Committee had mobilized forces to deploy rescue and bring the victim to the shore safely.
Military medical unit quickly conducted first aid and initial health check for the victim.
Through verification, the victim is Vuong Ai Than (born in 1988, residing in Nam Can village, Tam Huong district, Hunan province, China).
According to the victims, while traveling in Dong Hung City (China), Wang Ai Than carelessly dropped his personal handbag into the river and arbitrarily went to the river to salvage.

While trying to pick up things, due to the rising and fast river water, he was swept away to Vietnam.
After being rescued, the health of Wang Ai Than was stable.
The Mong Cai International Border Guard Station quickly contacted the hotline with Dong Hung Immigration Border Guard (China) to verify his identity and coordinate to hand over.
Until 20h40 on the same day, the two sides have completed the procedures for receiving and handing over Chinese citizens to Mong Cai International Border Gate in accordance with regulations.
