On the evening of August 30, Da Nang organized the "Love of the Country" art program and the inauguration ceremony of the project to upgrade and embellish the City Memorial and renovate and expand the 29/3 Square.
Mr. Le Trung Chinh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City said: "We hope that the City Memorial and 29/3 Square will continue to be an attractive place to educate the tradition of remembering the source of drinking water, the revolutionary spirit for the younger generations, to maintain the spirit and good qualities of the people and land of Da Nang; to foster the aspiration to build the country and build the city to develop more and more.
At the same time, it will also be a place for people and tourists to come and have fun and relax with many cultural and artistic activities, contributing to improving the spiritual life of the city's people."
The project to upgrade and embellish the City Memorial and renovate and expand the 29/3 Square was approved by the City People's Committee with a total investment of more than 212 billion VND, divided into 3 sub-areas in 2 phases.
Phase 1 - subdivision 1 is the City Memorial with an area of about 9,548m2.
Phase 2 - subdivision 2 is the Landscape Area around the Memorial, with a total planned land area of 39,670m2.
Phase 2 - subdivision 3 is the renovation and expansion of the March 29 Square area with an area of approximately 51,076m2.
Up to now, the Project to Upgrade and Renovate the City Memorial and Renovate and Expand the 29.3 Square has been completed, ensuring progress in time to celebrate the 79th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2.
