On December 19, the People's Committee of Da Nang City announced that it had just officially announced a natural disaster emergency situation due to serious landslides along the coast of Hoi An Dong Ward, directly threatening the lives of people and infrastructure in the area.
According to the assessment of the authorities, recent floods have caused the coast of this area to be eroded over a large area, eroding deep into the mainland, posing a potential risk of insecurity for residential areas, technical infrastructure works and coastal economic activities.

In the face of the above situation, the City People's Committee assigned the Hoi An Dong Ward People's Committee to continue to immediately deploy emergency measures to respond to and overcome the consequences of natural disasters, with the goal of minimizing possible damage. Functional forces, including the city's armed forces, have been mobilized to temporarily reinforce and prevent complicated landslides.
At the same time, the People's Committee of Hoi An Dong Ward coordinated with relevant agencies and units to conduct inspections, reviews and measurements of all landslides and damages; determine the amount of work to be done and prepare a cost estimate for repairs. On that basis, the locality proposed the content, scope and emergency repair costs for affected works, ensuring timeliness and compliance with regulations.
The announcement of an emergency situation is considered an important legal basis for Da Nang to mobilize resources, deploy urgent solutions, protect the safety of people and stabilize the situation in the coastal area of Hoi An Dong.
