Da Nang - Market Management forces have strengthened inspections, discovered and fined 3 confectionery businesses of unknown origin.

On January 26, the Da Nang City Market Management Sub-Department said that it has synchronously implemented professional measures, strengthened inspection and supervision of the market, focusing on small-scale food business establishments, warehouses, and goods gathering points in residential areas with signs of trading in goods of unknown origin, smuggled goods, poor quality goods, and potential food safety risks, especially pre-packaged confectionery items serving increased consumer demand during Tet.

In the period from December 1, 2025 to January 25, 2026, Market Management Team No. 5 discovered and fined 03 pre-packaged confectionery food business establishments of unknown origin.

Tangible evidence of violation includes 1,318 units of confectionery products with a total value of violating goods of more than 40.9 million VND, mainly types of cakes and candies with packaging printed with foreign characters, without sub-labels in Vietnamese, without invoices and documents proving legal origin according to the provisions of law.

The team issued decisions to administratively fine 03 business establishments with the amount of 29 million VND and forced the destruction of all violating goods in accordance with regulations and procedures.

Notably, some violating establishments were discovered operating secretly in small alleys, residential areas, without signs, small-scale transactions, using houses as places to hide and gather goods to avoid detection by functional agencies.

However, by professional measures and unscheduled inspections, Market Management Team No. 5 promptly detected and strictly handled them. This activity contributes to preventing the business of goods of unknown origin, protecting consumer rights and ensuring food safety during Tet.

In the coming time, Market Management Team No. 5 will continue to closely follow the direction of the Da Nang City Market Management Sub-Department, proactively coordinate closely with functional agencies in the area to strengthen inspection, and at the same time promote legal propaganda to build a healthy business environment.
