In the days leading up to Tet, the demand for goods, especially essential goods, is increasing, potentially posing a risk of violations such as trade fraud, trading in goods of unknown origin, expired or not ensuring regulations on labels and price listings.
According to Phu Quoc Special Zone People's Committee, in order to proactively maintain market stability, protect consumer rights and security and order in the area, the Special Zone People's Committee has requested sectors and functional forces to strengthen combat, inspection, and control activities, resolutely prevent and repel smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods. Activities take place continuously before, during and after the 2026 Binh Ngo Lunar New Year.
Market Management Team No. 4 under the An Giang Provincial Market Management Sub-Department has coordinated with functional sectors to organize actual inspections at supermarkets, traditional markets and business locations in the area. At the inspection points, functional forces focus on controlling business licenses, price listing, labels, packaging, expiration dates and origin of goods. Through records, most business establishments well comply with legal regulations, goods are displayed neatly and fully with information, and small traders actively coordinate with the inspection force.

And Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong - Owner of Hiep Hung supermarket, Phu Quoc special zone shared: "Now there are many Tet items, people's shopping demand is also increasing. I also often remind employees to pay attention to the products on the shelves with decent prices, import the items that are always new and inventory the goods regularly so that customers can feel secure in shopping.
Through the inspection of the goods market during Tet, the inspection team assessed that the business situation in the area is basically stable, the supply of goods is abundant, meeting the consumption needs of people on the island and tourists. The inspection activity also contributes to raising the awareness of law compliance of business organizations and individuals, ensuring consumer rights and maintaining market stability during Tet.
