The Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, Ho Ky Minh, has just signed Decision No. 1736/QD-UBND, establishing the Da Nang City radiation and nuclear incident response command board.
According to the decision, Mr. Ho Quang Buu - Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee (in charge of science - technology and innovation) will be the Head of the Department; Director of the Department of Science and Technology will be the Standing Deputy Head of the Department.
The Command Committee operates under a concurrent regime, the Head of the Committee assigns tasks to each member. The head of the board has the right to use the seal of the City People's Committee in directing and operating. The Standing Deputy Head of the Department and the Standing agency are allowed to use the seal of the Department of Science and Technology to carry out the work.
According to the People's Committee of Da Nang City, from 2015 to now, the city has successfully organized 8/10 scenarios to respond to radiation and nuclear incidents. The remaining two scenarios will continue to be organized in the coming time, according to the city's roadmap.
Through the exercise, the city tested the ability to coordinate between forces, assess the level of response readiness, as well as the practicality of the built scenarios. From 2019 to present, there have been no radiation incidents recorded in the health system.
