The Department of Dyke Management and Natural Disaster Prevention (Ministry of Agriculture and Environment) said that according to reports from the provinces and cities of Lao Cai, Son La, Phu Tho, Tuyen Quang, Lang Son, Cao Bang, Thai Nguyen, Bac Ninh, Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Hung Yen, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, Hue, Da Nang, as of 5:00 p.m. on October 2, storm No. 10 and floods, landslides, and thunderstorms have severely affected the localities.
There have been 65 deaths and missing people. Of which, 49 people died in provinces such as: Lao Cai 5 people; Cao Bang 6 people; Tuyen Quang 4 people; Son La 2 people; Lang Son 2 people; Thai Nguyen 3 people; Hung Yen 2 people; Ninh Binh 9 people; Thanh Hoa 5 people; Nghe An 4 people; Ha Tinh 1 person; Quang Tri 4 people; Hue 1 person; Da Nang 1 person).
In Lao Cai, 5 people are missing; Tuyen Quang 3 people; Quang Tri 8 people. And 153 people were injured.
Currently, 200 houses have collapsed, collapsed, concentrated in many provinces such as: Nghe An 74 houses; Tuyen Quang 33 houses; Thanh Hoa 31 houses; Lao Cai 30 houses... In addition, there are 169,228 damaged houses with blown-off roofs (the most are Ha Tinh with 95,310 houses) and 64,816 flooded houses (the most are Thanh Hoa 17,918 houses).
80,606 hectares of rice, crops, and other crops were flooded and damaged. Nghe An alone has 27,731 hectares and Thanh Hoa has 15,296 hectares. Currently, there have been 27 dike incidents, the most of which are 13 incidents in Thanh Hoa.
16,825 hectares of seafood were damaged, the most severe being 8,762 hectares in Nghe An, 4,102 hectares in Thanh Hoa. 51,095m of canals were eroded and damaged; 178 irrigation works were damaged.
Regarding education, 1,458 schools were affected and damaged, typically in Ha Tinh, Nghe An, Thanh Hoa provinces.
Flooding, landslides, traffic jams at 7,584 points on roads in Lao Cai, Son La, Phu Tho, Tuyen Quang, Lang Son, Cao Bang, Thai Nguyen, Bac Ninh, Hanoi, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri provinces. Currently, localities are mobilizing machinery and equipment to overcome and continue to count landslides and flooding.
Recorded landslides of 33,196m embankment, riverbank, and coastline (Tuyen Quang 7,017m, Thanh Hoa 410m, Nghe An 2,129m, Quang Tri 3,500m, Hue 15,900m).
8,515 electric poles were broken and fell (concentrated in Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh). Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri provinces have nearly 2.7 million customers without power, and have restored power to 2,243,119 customers. Currently, 468,531 customers are still without power and are continuing to restore.
For telecommunications, the level 2 specialized data transmission network (from province to commune) lost connection due to power outage 268/722; public network 1,103/8,879 BTS stations lost contact.
There were 79,841 fallen trees (concentrated in Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Quang Tri).
The total preliminary economic damage in some provinces is VND12,799 billion (Lao Cai VND2,750 billion, Son La VND528 billion, Phu Tho VND85 billion, Cao Bang VND750 billion, Hai Phong VND16 billion, Nghe An VND2,120 billion, Ha Tinh VND6,000 billion, Quang Tri VND550 billion).
