Currently, the upstream water level of Vu Gia - Thu Bon river is rising again, downstream rivers fluctuate at above alert level 3. At 1:00 a.m. on October 29, the water level recorded: Vu Gia River at Ai Nghia 10.17m (above BD3: 1.17m); Thu Bon River at Nong Son 16.60m (above BD3: 1.60m); at Giao Thuy 9.43m (above BD3: 0.62m); at Cau Lau 5.20m (above BD3: 1.20m); at Hoi An 3.11m (above BD3: 1.11m), Han River at Cam Le reached 2.75m (above BD3: 0.25m); Tam Ky River at Tam Ky 2.37m (above BD2: 0.17m).
In the next 24 hours, floods on the Vu Gia - Thu Bon River will continue to rise and peak; the flood peak on the Vu Gia River at Ai Nghia will reach 10.25m (above BD3: 1.25m); the Thu Bon River at Cau Lau will fluctuate above BD3 from 1.2 - 1.35m; the Han River will continue to rise above BD3 by about 0.3 - 0.5m; the Tam Ky River will fluctuate above BD2.
Deep and widespread flooding continues in low-lying areas along rivers and urban areas. Especially the communes and wards of Que Phuoc, Nong Son, Duy Xuyen, Thu Bon, Xuan Phu, Thanh My, Thuong Duc, Ha Nha, Phu Thuan, Vu Gia, Dai Loc, Go Noi, Dien Ban, Hoa Tien, Hoi An, Nam Phuoc, Duy Nghia, Ngu Hanh Son, Cam Le... There is a very high risk of flash floods and landslides in the mountainous areas of Da Nang city.
Floods and inundation on rivers are at high risk of damaging river structures, affecting aquaculture ponds, the environment, people's lives and socio-economic activities.
In the past 24 hours (from 4am on October 28 to 4am on October 29), Da Nang City has had moderate rain, heavy rain, and very heavy rain in some places. In the next 6 hours, the city will continue to have very heavy rain. Total rainfall is generally 20-40mm, in some places over 80mm.
In the next 6 hours, there is a risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams in mountainous areas; landslides on steep slopes, and land subsidence in many communes/wards of Da Nang city. Warning level of natural disaster risk due to flash floods, landslides, and land subsidence caused by heavy rain or water flow: Level 3.
Flash floods and landslides can have a very negative impact on the environment, threatening people's lives; causing local traffic congestion, affecting the movement of vehicles; destroying civil and economic works, causing damage to production activities and socio-economic activities.
