Tung Vai is a border commune of Tuyen Quang province with an area of 149.98km2, 27 villages and hamlets with 15 ethnic groups living together.
The area has over 30 km of border adjacent to China managed by Tung Vai Border Guard Station. The whole commune has 14 polling stations, 7,153 voters. The area is large, dangerous, and the population is sparse, so security assurance is always tightened.
Lieutenant Colonel Bui Van Khuyen - Head of Tung Vai Commune Police said: "In order to ensure security and safety for the All People's Election Day, forces including the Commune Police, Commune Military and Border Guard have deployed many plans ready to protect security and order at polling stations.
From noon on March 14, all forces participating in security protection for the election day were present at the polling station to deploy and perform tasks.
To date, there are 16 groups in the commune implementing security and order assurance work at polling stations.
Forces organize patrols and inspections of areas around polling stations, grasp the area to promptly detect and handle arising situations. The work of maintaining on-duty troops and 24/24 hour security at polling stations is strictly implemented.
According to Senior Lieutenant Dinh Xuan Cuong - Team Leader of the Staff Team of Tung Vai Border Guard Station, despite the biting cold weather, the forces still strictly ensure the duty regime at the polling station, the goal is to ensure security, so that the election day takes place safely, peacefully and with the full trust of the people.
Functional forces also strengthen propaganda and mobilize people to raise their vigilance and not listen to distorted arguments of hostile forces.
