On September 1st, Cua Viet Port Border Guard Station (Command of Quang Tri Provincial Border Guard Command) said that the unit had just mobilized forces to support pulling a fishing boat that was sunk by waves ashore.
At about 6 am on the same day, the unit received a report that Mr. Ho Van Thang's fishing boat, residing in Gio Hai 1 village (Cua Viet commune, Quang Tri province), was sunk by waves while operating at sea.
At the time of the accident, the boat was about 100m from the shore. After the boat sank, Mr. Thang swam ashore safely.
Upon receiving the information, the Cua Viet Port Border Guard Station sent 10 officers and soldiers to the scene to coordinate in supporting fishermen to pull vehicles.
At about 7 am, the boat was pulled ashore by functional forces and people. The incident did not cause any casualties, property damage is estimated at about 10 million VND.
According to initial information, the fishing boat that encountered the accident was under 6m long.
In recent days, heavy rain and strong winds have appeared in Quang Tri, causing disadvantages for seafood exploitation activities and small vehicles operating along the coast.
