On the afternoon of December 15, Con Co Border Guard Station (Quang Tri Border Guard) confirmed that the unit had received 6 crew members in distress at sea and provided medical care and encouragement.
Previously, at 13:20 on December 15, Con Co Border Guard Station received a report that the fishing boat with registration number QT 90559-TS captained by Mr. Bui Dinh Cam (born in 1963, residing in Quarter 5, Cua Viet Commune, Quang Tri Province) was sunk by waves while operating at sea.
At the time of the accident, the QT 90559-TS ship had 6 crew members operating at coordinates 17°10'55'N - 107°24'42'E, about 3 nautical miles northeast of Con Co Island.

Immediately after the ship sank, all crew members were approached, rescued and safely boarded by fishing boat QT 91090-TS captained by Mr. Bui Van Linh (born in 1982, residing in Quarter 5, Cua Viet Commune).
Ship QT 91090-TS then took the fishermen to Con Co Island. Here, all crew members were examined by the Border Guard medical team for health check-ups and encouragement. The health of the fishermen is currently stable.
