Investing 120 billion VND to renovate an abandoned hospital in Ninh Binh

Ninh Binh - After many years of abandonment, Ninh Binh province decided to invest 120 billion VND to renovate the old Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital into the Traditional Medicine Hospital.

After moving to the new headquarters, from 2020 to present, the old headquarters of the Ninh Binh Province Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital has been abandoned. Many items, equipment, electrical and water systems, snail rooms... have been degraded and damaged.

Although not used, in recent years the management unit has still spent money to hire security guards to look after it every day, to avoid the case of thieves breaking into and stealing equipment.

Recently, the People's Committee of Ninh Binh province has decided to transfer and transfer 19,278.76m2 of land and 41,455.6m2 of the home floor area of the old Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital to the Traditional Medicine Hospital of Ninh Binh province for management and use.

The People's Council of Ninh Binh province has issued a Resolution on the investment policy for the project to invest in the construction and renovation of the Traditional Medicine Hospital of Ninh Binh province (at the old Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital).

Accordingly, the project was assigned to the Ninh Binh Province Civil and Industrial Construction Investment Project Management Board as the investor.

The total land area used for the project is nearly 20,000m2 belonging to a part of the land area on the premises of the old Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital and is identified as land for medical facilities.

The scale of the group B project (classified according to the criteria prescribed by the Law on Public Investment 2019) and belonging to the group II investment project with a designed capacity of the Traditional Medicine Hospital of 200 beds.

According to the representative of the Ninh Binh Province Civil and Industrial Construction Investment Project Management Board (investor), the project has a total investment of 120 billion VND, the implementation period is from 2024 to 2026.

The renovation includes demolition and relocation of some degraded items and works that are not safe for use and are no longer in accordance with the planning. At the same time, renovate and upgrade treatment blocks and build new administrative blocks, outpatient treatment blocks, infection control departments... along with internal road system, electricity system, water, wastewater treatment, fire prevention and fighting system and other auxiliary technical infrastructure items.

"We are currently implementing a plan to select a contractor to implement the project. The equipment construction and installation package is priced at VND 110.574 billion, with an implementation period of 18 months, and is being widely organized for online bidding, expected to close/open the bid at 9:00 a.m. on February 24, 2025" - said a representative of the Ninh Binh Province Civil and Industrial Construction Investment Project Management Board.
