The total capital for the construction of these three public toilets is 15,811 billion VND, from the Ha Long city budget. The locations for the construction of the three toilets have been selected and are expected to start construction in the near future.
Currently, along Bai Chay beach, there are only a few small toilets of some service businesses and they are often overloaded during peak times; not to mention the beach is too long - about 4km so moving to the toilets is quite inconvenient for tourists.
It is known that in recent years, Ha Long City has invested and socialized the construction of many 5-star public toilets in parks and places with high tourist concentrations.
In particular, public toilets were put into use in the northwest area of Tran Hung Dao Primary School, the flower garden area west of Quang Ninh Import-Export Company; 3 public toilets at Ha Long Flower Park; 2 toilets on Tran Quoc Nghien coastal road.
Recently, another modern public toilet in the flower garden and landscape area of Group 27 and 28, Zone 2, Bach Dang Ward has also been put into use.
The above public toilets all have an area of 40-100m2, modern interior, beautiful architecture, fully equipped with sanitary equipment to serve the needs of tourists and people, ensuring environmental hygiene.
However, with the strong development of tourism as it is today, the number of tourists to Ha Long increases steadily every year. According to residents and tourists, Ha Long City should invest in building more public toilets at tourist attractions, on central streets, especially in Bai Chay area, to further improve the efficiency of serving residents, tourists and protecting the city's environment.
Along with that, calling on people, restaurant and hotel owners in the city to join hands to serve tourists.
