Shining brightly" on remote border areas
On September 20, Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee issued a decision approving the finalization of completed investment capital for the project to bring the national power grid to 11 remote villages in Muong Nhe district (old). This is an important component item invested by the Provincial Department of Industry and Trade, within the framework of the Rural Power Supply Project from the national power grid in the period 2014-2020 with a total investment of 535 billion VND for the entire route.
Currently, the entire system of poles, transformer stations and power lines has been handed over to Dien Bien Power Company to receive, directly manage and operate safely. The successful energizing in 11 poor Muong Nhe villages has particularly profound social and political significance.
Mr. Luong Van Thu (Gia Chu village, Leng Su Sin commune) - expressed his emotion when using the national grid for the first time: "The electricity is on, my children can study with flashlights, refrigerators or fans can now be bought and used.

Previously, Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 1815/QD-UBND (dated August 12, 2026), allocating more than 428 billion VND from the increased central budget revenue to accelerate the progress of 7 key rural power supply projects within the "Bringing Dien Bien" program.
According to the allocation decision, capital sources are focused on prioritizing areas with complex fragmented terrain and high poverty rates. Old districts such as: Muong Cha received more than 122.7 billion VND; Tua Chua more than 114.8 billion VND; Nam Po more than 54.5 billion VND; Tuan Giao more than 43.1 billion VND; Muong Nhe more than 38.1 billion VND; Dien Bien more than 28.6 billion VND and Muong Ang more than 25.9 billion VND.
Leaders of Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee have directed the Department of Finance to urgently disburse additional funds for the Provincial Civil and Industrial Construction Project Management Board - the unit assigned to be the investor. At the same time, the province requested the investor to tighten disbursement discipline.
According to statistics from specialized agencies, Dien Bien province is currently simultaneously implementing 3 major programs on electricity infrastructure. Among them, the "Bringing Dien Bien" program has the largest scale of electricity coverage with 6,443 households benefiting.
The project implemented by Dien Bien Power Company in the period 2025 - 2027 has completed power supply for 1,110 households, in 2026 it will continue to supply electricity to the remaining 116 households; the project to improve self-reliance capacity for rural areas in the period 2026 - 2028 is also preparing to supplement power supply for about 2,543 households.
