On October 24, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dong Nai province sent a document to the People's Committee of Dong Nai province advising on a plan to preserve the ancient house of Vo Ha Thanh (also known as Ong Phu's house) in Buu Long ward, Bien Hoa city.
Vo Ha Thanh ancient house is located at 99B, quarter 5, Buu Long ward, Bien Hoa city, land plot number 422, cadastral map sheet number 3.
According to the information provided by the housekeeper, the house was started to be built in 1922 and inaugurated in 1924.
Currently, Bien Hoa City People's Committee is implementing the embankment and road project along Dong Nai River. On the reclaimed land area, there is the ancient house of Vo Ha Thanh that needs to be cleared to implement the project.

After the Vo Ha Thanh ancient house was ranked as a provincial relic, it was recommended that the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee implement a project to preserve and restore the Vo Ha Thanh ancient house.
Straightening roads to preserve ancient houses
Agree to report to Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee to direct relevant units to implement the project according to option 2 to preserve the ancient house of Vo Ha Thanh: Carry out the riverside road alignment according to the proposal of the Department of Construction in Official Dispatch No. 4433/SXD-QLHTDT dated September 27, 2024.
The range of the riverside road encroaching on the old house is 12.7m, the range from the river embankment to the sidewalk of the road is 14.7m, with trees and a 2m wide walkway. The length of the unconstructed section is 650m.
Thus, the remaining range from the edge of the embankment to the edge of the old house's porch still has enough distance to straighten the route to avoid the house, the principle is to keep the road width of 24m along the entire route.
With 650m length, it ensures a soft curve, avoiding houses, no sharp turns, no bottlenecks.
The length of the route is about 200m and the surplus land area due to the route being moved to the outside of the river bank will be used as park land and parking lot (this is the land that has been recovered and compensated).
This option does not require additional land acquisition, only requires adjusting the route design plan, preparing and submitting design documents for approval, so this option is the fastest to process.
