On September 9, Mr. Tran Quang Trung - Head of Village 1, Anh Son Commune - said that the victim was Mr. P.V.N. (born in 1974, residing in village 1). That same morning, Mr. N. rowed a boat to the riverbank to cut grass and bring it back to the herd of fish. When he could not return at noon, his wife went to look for him and discovered that the boat was still anchored at the edge of the water, while Mr. N. lay motionless near a beehive, with many stings on his body.
People quickly took the victim home and transferred him to Anh Son Medical Center for emergency treatment, but due to too many burns, Mr. N. died.
Mr. Trung said that Mr. N.'s family situation is difficult and near-poor. The couple has 3 children, of which 2 are still in school, the father is over 90 years old and needs care. The villagers are joining hands to help the family with the funeral arrangements.
Mr. Nguyen Cong Thang - Chairman of Anh Son Commune People's Committee - confirmed the incident, and said that the authorities had sent officials to visit, encourage and support the family. The commune government also recommends that people should be careful during this season when going to work near bushes, along rivers, and along fields, avoiding near areas where bees make nests.
