On August 17, relevant units inspected and took samples in Ba Long commune, Dakrong district. The results showed that 32 cattle and buffaloes of 12 households were infected with the disease.
Initially, it was identified that the buffalo herds of households in Da Noi village, Ba Long commune grazed together and had contact with the buffalo herds of Trieu Nguyen commune (Dakrong district).
Finding out information from the people of Trieu Nguyen commune, the commune's buffalo herd grazes in the Hill 365 area bordering the Cua area (Cam Lo district). Buffalo showed signs of illness about 15 days ago and was treated for symptoms.
In Huong Hoa district, there are 4 communes and towns with foot-and-mouth disease with a total of 67 infected cattle; died, buried 3 cows. In Huc commune alone, there were 35 cattle infected with foot-and-mouth disease in 4 villages; 1 has died, 19 have been healed and 15 are being treated.
Faced with the above mentioned foot-and-mouth disease epidemic, on August 16, 2024, Huong Hoa District People's Committee decided to announce an epidemic of foot-and-mouth disease in buffaloes and cows in Huc commune.
It is known that one of the reasons why the epidemic appeared in this district came from cows provided to people by a poverty reduction project. These cows were brought from other localities, only a few days later they developed the disease, but the authorities were slow to detect, localize, and stamp out the epidemic.
