According to the Southern Regional Hydrometeorological Station, thunderstorms will remain widespread in the coming days.

On the afternoon of June 24, monitoring satellite cloud images, weather radar and lightning positioning data showed that thunderstorm clouds are developing strongly, causing showers with thunderstorms and lightning in many areas of Dong Thap, An Giang, Dong Nai and Lam Dong provinces.

In the next 0-3 hours, thunderstorms will continue to develop, causing showers and thunderstorms in the above-mentioned areas, then tend to expand to neighboring localities.

Common rainfall is from 4-30 mm, in some places over 30 mm. During thunderstorms, people need to be wary of tornadoes, lightning, hail, strong gusts of wind at level 5-8 (8-21 m/s) and the risk of localized flooding in low-lying areas.

According to the forecast of the meteorological agency, in the next 24-48 hours, a low pressure trough with an axis of about 24-27 degrees North latitude connected to the hot low pressure area to the West will continue to be compressed by a continental high pressure mass in the North. Southwest monsoon maintains medium intensity. Above, subtropical high pressure weakens and gradually moves to the East, creating conditions for wind convergence to operate more strongly.

In the period from 3-10 days, the low pressure trough connecting to the hot low pressure area to the West will continue to be compressed and gradually move down to the North. Southwest monsoon maintains medium intensity. Subtropical high pressure continues to weaken, recedes to the East and tends to encroach westward again from around June 28. From June 27-28, the possibility of forming a low pressure trough in the Northwest - Southeast direction through the Central and South Central regions.

Due to the influence of the above weather patterns, in the late afternoon and evening of June 24, the Southern region will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, common rainfall of 10-20 mm, locally heavy rain over 50 mm. In the coming days, thunderstorms will continue in the afternoon and evening in the area.

Rainstorms can be accompanied by tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind, affecting agricultural production, causing trees to fall, damage to houses, traffic works and technical infrastructure. Heavy rain also poses a risk of localized flooding, causing difficulties for traffic, daily life and production of people.
