On the afternoon of June 11, Dien Bien Environment Joint Stock Company started the Dien Bien Waste Treatment Plant project in Na Hai village, Sam Mun commune. The project has a total investment of 237.5 billion VND.
According to the design, the plant has a maximum domestic waste treatment capacity of 120 tons/day and night; industrial waste treatment of 20 tons/day and night; treatment, reuse and production of organic fertilizer of 50 tons/day and night; along with a drying area for agricultural and forestry products taking advantage of steam from the waste treatment process with a maximum capacity of 140 tons of steam/day and night.
When completed, the project is expected to contribute to improving waste treatment capacity, reducing environmental pollution, creating jobs for local workers, and promoting agricultural production.
Mr. Tran Quoc Hung - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dien Bien Environment Joint Stock Company (investor) committed to mobilizing sufficient resources to implement the project to ensure quality, safety and on schedule.
According to the plan, in the second quarter of 2026, the organic fertilizer production workshop will be put into operation, in the fourth quarter of 2027, the second phase of the waste incinerator workshop will be put into operation, and in the fourth quarter of 2028, the agricultural and forestry product drying workshop will be put into operation.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Minh Phu - Vice Chairman of Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee, said that the commencement of the Waste Treatment Plant project is of great significance in solid waste treatment and environmental protection of the province, contributing to the implementation of green and sustainable development goals.
To ensure that the project is implemented on schedule, ensuring quality and safety, the Provincial People's Committee will continue to accompany and create favorable conditions for investors in the implementation process. Promptly remove difficulties and obstacles, and strengthen inspection and supervision of project implementation.
