Continuing the success of the opening session, the Forum "The Role of the Press in Promoting the Tourism Economy in Vietnam in 2026" entered a series of in-depth content.
At the discussion sessions on the afternoon of May 22, representatives of leading management and press agencies presented many practical solutions to orient public opinion and support tourism businesses.
Contributing a profound perspective from the host locality, the presentation of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Tri province comprehensively analyzed the reality and local promotion experience. Representatives of this agency emphasized that in the context of increasingly fierce destination competition, the press is the lever shaping the mainstream information flow, helping to effectively introduce the cultural, historical values and typical peaceful and ecological tourism models of the locality to domestic and international tourists.

In the thematic presentation session, Mr. Nguyen Anh Vu - Editor-in-Chief of Van Hoa Newspaper - emphasized the importance of multi-platform communication in promoting national tourism. He stated clearly: "The press is not only information, but also a companion force in building tourism brands and spreading Vietnamese culture internationally.
Mr. Tran Tien Duan - Editor-in-Chief of VietnamPlus Electronic Newspaper, Vietnam News Agency - presented a paper on digital data and multilingual journalism, affirming the role of grasping tourist behavior on digital platforms to orient content to suit the needs of the international public.
Approaching from a livelihood and job perspective, the presentation of Lao Dong Newspaper in the yearbook of the forum with the theme "Press and tourism human resource development in the digital economy" affirmed: "If you want tourism to be a key economic sector, you must consider workers as the spearhead of quality".

In the digital economy, tourism human resources not only need traditional professional skills but also must possess the ability to operate digital platforms, make cashless payments and tell cultural heritage stories with innovative thinking. Lao Dong Newspaper identifies its role in shifting from a purely "tourism as a destination" approach to "tourism as a human - cultural - technological - livelihood ecosystem", accompanying the green economy through the lens of protecting rights, jobs and improving digital skills for workers.
The focus of the forum on the afternoon of May 22 revolved around major academic content. The first was a in-depth presentation on tourism communication trends in the context of digital transformation. At this session, technology experts and leaders of press agencies dissected the shift from traditional journalism genres to solution journalism, data journalism and modern multimedia forms (E-magazine, Longform, Podcast) to optimize the ability to reach global tourists.

Immediately after that, the policy and tourism market dialogue seminar took place in a frank and multi-dimensional atmosphere. The seminar established a direct bridge between policymakers of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the National Department of Tourism and leaders of localities and representatives of large tourism corporations. Many bottlenecks in investment mechanisms, regional linkages, destination capacity management during peak season and digital infrastructure for small and medium-sized enterprises were brought up for discussion and searching for synchronous solutions to remove them.
The forum is highly practical when organizing an exhibition space to promote local tourism products. Here, localities and tourism businesses in the Central region and the whole country directly introduced green ecotourism products, OCOP products and smart tourism solutions, creating a vivid picture of the great potential of Vietnam's green economy.
At the same time, cooperation connection activities between press agencies and businesses and localities have been concretized by signing memorandums of understanding on communication coordination. This is a practical action to form a modern tourism communication ecosystem, maximizing the strength of the public-private partnership model.

The forum "The role of the press in promoting the tourism economy in Vietnam in 2026" closed with strong action commitments. The event is not only a forum for academic exchange, but also has important strategic significance to concretize the Party and Government's policies, bring the tourism industry to accelerate sustainable development, improve national competitiveness and affirm the position of Vietnam's tourism brand on the world map in the digital age.
At the forum, Lao Dong Newspaper; Culture - Society Department of Nhan Dan Newspaper; Culture Newspaper; Industry and Trade Newspaper; News Department, Vietnam Television; Resident Office in the Central region of Voice of Vietnam Radio; Resident Office of Vietnam News Agency in Hanoi; Culture - Society Information Department, Domestic Information Editorial Board, Vietnam News Agency; Quang Tri Newspaper and Radio and Television; Tien Phong Newspaper; VnExpress Newspaper; VietNamNet Newspaper; Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Magazine - were honored to receive the Certificate of Merit from the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism for their outstanding contributions in communication and promotion of the image of the country and people of Vietnam; accompanying the tourism industry in restoring, developing and digital transformation of national tourism.
