At 2 pm on May 22, in Quang Tri province, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee organized the Forum "The role of the press in promoting the tourism economy in Vietnam in 2026".
Continuing the success of the forum on the cultural industry in 2025 in Hai Phong, the forum in 2026 in Quang Tri is a practical activity to concretize the Party and Government's policy on tourism development, towards the goal of double-digit economic growth in the coming period.
The event was attended by about 300 delegates who are leaders of ministries, departments, branches, press agencies, experts and tourism businesses nationwide.

Speaking at the opening of the forum, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ho An Phong emphasized that in the digital age, the press is not just a purely information force but a force to create awareness, lead trends and is a "soft bridge" between destinations and tourists, between cultural values and the market.
However, the Deputy Minister also frankly pointed out limitations such as unsynchronized promotional content, the ability to tell destination stories has not created differentiation, and the connection between the press and businesses and localities is still lacking in depth. To overcome this, the Deputy Minister suggested that the forum focus on discussing solutions to innovate multi-platform communication methods, apply artificial intelligence, digital data, and at the same time strengthen linkages to form a unified tourism communication ecosystem.
At the forum, the tourism space of Quang Tri province was introduced to expand after the merger, positioning itself as an Asian cave exploration tourist center.
Representative of the accompanying unit, Vice Chairman of Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee Hoang Xuan Tan affirmed that the locality always identifies communication and image promotion as a key task, going one step ahead. In 2025, the province's tourism achieved impressive results with 9.6 million visitors, total revenue reached 11,040 billion VND.
Stepping into the period 2025 - 2030, Quang Tri identifies development in a green, sustainable direction, making tourism one of the four key economic pillars. The province sets a target for 2026 to welcome 10.5 million visitors, striving for GRDP growth to reach 10.6%.
To realize this goal, Quang Tri will stimulate demand with a series of major events, focusing on the Peace Festival 2026 taking place from March to December. In particular, Quang Tri being selected to host National Tourism Year 2027 will be a golden opportunity to break through" - Mr. Hoang Xuan Tan said.

Leaders of Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee expressed their desire for press agencies to continue to accompany, arouse tourism emotions and support the building of an attractive Quang Tri brand on the international map.
At the forum, delegates highly appreciated the role of the press when in the past time it has always maintained specialized pages and columns, posting tens of thousands of multi-platform media products about tourism. Many communication campaigns in the digital environment have reached tens of millions of accesses, contributing to positioning the national brand.
The 2026 Forum continues to affirm that the press is a subject accompanying economic development. Through in-depth articles, digital communication campaigns, reality experience programs, livestreams, short videos or podcasts, the press has been creating new tourism trends and stimulating market demand.
After the opening session, the forum will continue to have outstanding activities including: In-depth discussion session on tourism communication trends in the context of digital transformation; Policy and tourism market dialogue seminar; Display and promotion of local tourism products; and cooperation connection activities between press agencies and businesses and localities.
