On July 29, Mr. Phan Van Huan - Head of the Crop Production Department, Ha Tinh Sub-Department of Crop Production and Livestock Production said that in the summer-autumn crop of 2026, basically the reservoirs, dams, and irrigation works in Ha Tinh are still meeting the irrigation needs for the fields, and there has been no drought affecting the growth and development of rice plants.
The drought has not affected the growth and development of this summer-autumn rice crop, in areas lacking water and facing irrigation difficulties, people have proactively stopped cultivating," Mr. Huan shared.
According to Mr. Huan, up to this point, the area of summer-autumn rice in Ha Tinh has flown about 20%.

Mr. Tran Hung - Head of the Sub-Department of Crop Production and Livestock Production of Ha Tinh province said that right from the beginning of the agricultural production season, the Sub-Department of Crop Production and Livestock Production has coordinated with the Sub-Department of Irrigation and local authorities to review the system of canals and ditches to ensure irrigation for fields.
Basically, the area of summer-autumn rice in Ha Tinh is guaranteed water sources for growth and development, if there are areas lacking water, it is only localized and small-scale.
Also according to Mr. Hung, the leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Environment are very interested in and closely direct the proactive irrigation to ensure agricultural production, especially for summer-autumn rice that is in the flowering stage.
According to the Head of the Ha Tinh Sub-Department of Crop Production and Livestock Production, in the summer-autumn crop of 2026, Ha Tinh province will cultivate 43,590.9 ha (reaching 95.77% of the plan). Meanwhile, in the summer-autumn crop of 2025, the cultivated area is about 45,000 ha. In the spring crop of 2026, the cultivated area is more than 59,000 ha.
According to Mr. Hung, there are many reasons why the area of summer-autumn crop cultivation this year decreased. Among them, a part of the decrease in area is due to the recovery to serve a number of works, projects, industrial parks, and clusters; decrease due to difficulties in irrigation water sources, farmers not cultivating; decrease due to people realizing that rice prices are low, while investment costs are high, so they find other jobs for better income.
