On December 6, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Dong Nai province transferred the case file of the illegal leveling of nearly 4,000 square meters of protective forest land (mangrove forest) near Phuoc An port, Nhon Trach district.
The case file was transferred to Nhon Trach District Police for investigation and verification.
Initial information shows that during the construction of Phuoc An port, an area of nearly 4,000 square meters was filled.
The illegally leveled protective forest area is managed by the Long Thanh Protective Forest Management Board.
The investor in the construction of Phuoc An port is Phuoc An Port Investment and Exploitation Petroleum Joint Stock Company (PAP).
Phuoc An Port, covering 183 hectares on the banks of Thi Vai River (Nhon Trach District), is the largest seaport in Dong Nai. According to the plan, Phuoc An Port is divided into port subdivisions and logistics service subdivisions. Of which, the port subdivision has a total area of 183 hectares, a total wharf length of 3,050 m, including 6 container wharfs, 4 general wharfs capable of receiving ships with a capacity of 60,000 DWT.
In addition to the 183-hectare port area, the Phuoc An port logistics service industrial park with an area of 550 hectares is planned with a system of cargo warehouse services, barge terminals, transit train stations, etc. to serve transportation and logistics activities for the Phuoc An port area to industrial parks in Nhon Trach district, Dong Nai province and the Southern key economic region.
