On May 26, the People's Committee (UBND) of Con Tien commune (Quang Tri province) confirmed that it had just issued a notice on the temporary suspension of operations for Hanh Phuc bread establishment (address in Nam Dong village, Con Tien commune) owned by Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Huyen.
This decision was made immediately after the inter-sectoral inspection team on food safety and hygiene of Con Tien commune conducted a surprise inspection of this establishment on May 25.
Through inspection, functional agencies discovered that Hanh Phuc bread shop had a series of violations such as: allowing food with maggots in food sold to customers; not ensuring food safety and hygiene conditions during the processing and storage of food. Notably, both the Business Registration Certificate and the Health Certificate of the person directly doing food business here have expired.
Con Tien Commune People's Committee requested that during the temporary suspension period, the facility owner must temporarily suspend all production and business activities; destroy unsafe products and carry out general cleaning of the processing area. The facility is only allowed to resume operations after fully overcoming the conditions, completing legal documents and being inspected and certified by competent authorities as meeting the conditions according to regulations.
Previously, as Lao Dong Newspaper reported, on May 25, information and videos of people reflecting the discovery of many maggots crawling in sticky rice boxes bought at Hanh Phuc bread shop were spread on social networks. Immediately after receiving the information, Con Tien Commune Police urgently intervened to verify and determined that the incident was true. This establishment also could not present a Certificate of eligibility for food safety at the time of inspection.
