On September 7, Steering Committee 515 of Hue City organized a send-off ceremony, assigning tasks to Team 192 to search for and repatriate the remains of volunteer soldiers and Vietnamese experts who sacrificed in Laos, dry season 2026 - 2027.
In the dry season of 2026 - 2027, Team 192 is staffed with 50 officials and employees, divided into two departments to perform tasks in Laos and in the country.
To prepare for the task, the Hue City Military Command has consolidated forces, organized military training, political education, professional and Lao language training for officers and staff. Vehicles such as cars, excavators, and motorbikes are inspected and repaired, ensuring technical coefficients; gathering tools, food, medicine and necessities are also fully prepared.
The team also prepared for mass mobilization work in Laos, including mobilizing 20 lists of medicines and 720 sets of used clothes to give to people in the villages where the unit came to perform their duties.
Notably, the duration of tasks in Laos this dry season is longer than previous seasons, starting 1 month earlier and ending 2 months later. Up to now, Team 192 has coordinated with the friendly side to collect 7 martyrs' graves information to organize searches and repatriations. 100% of officials and employees are reassured and determined their responsibilities well.
Assigning tasks to Team 192, Mr. Nguyen Van Manh emphasized that searching for and repatriating martyrs' remains is a sacred political task, reflecting the morality of "Drinking water, remembering the source", "Gratitude" of the nation.
Head of Steering Committee 515 of Hue City requested officers and staff of Team 192 to uphold their determination, organize scientific and effective search and exhumation, ensuring absolute safety; and at the same time closely coordinate with Party committees, authorities, armed forces and people of Salavan and Sekong provinces.
In the process of performing tasks on friendly land, Team 192 is required to respect Lao customs, habits, and laws; do well in defense foreign affairs, people-to-people diplomacy and mass mobilization, contributing to fostering the special solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Laos.
On this occasion, Hue City People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to Team 192 and 3 individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing the "500-day and night campaign to search, repatriate and identify the remains of martyrs".
Before leaving, Hue City People's Committee, Steering Committee 515, City Military Command and departments and branches presented gifts and encouraged officers and staff of Team 192.
