Quang Ngai - During the excavation of martyrs' graves for DNA testing, functional forces continuously discovered many artifacts.

The pen was found at grave number 4, row 1, lot 8. This is an important source of information for comparison and verification, contributing to clarifying the identity of martyrs' remains.

Previously, on September 6, during the excavation and sampling of martyrs' remains for DNA testing at Ba To Martyrs' Cemetery (Quang Ngai province), Sampling Team No. 5, Quang Ngai Provincial Military Command continued to discover more martyr artifacts.

At grave number 10, row number 8, area B, functional forces found a leather wallet inside with row number 20/3/70 and handwritten signature with the name Trong Thanh buried with the remains of an unidentified martyr.

When discovered, most of the artifacts were heavily damaged, peeling and tarnished after many decades lying underground. However, inside the wallet, there is still a fairly clear line of text. According to initial assessments by functional agencies, the signature on the leather wallet is likely the name of the martyr and the number on top is the date, month, and year of enlistment of the martyr.

Previously, also at Ba To Martyrs' Cemetery, functional forces discovered many martyr artifacts during the excavation process to take remains samples. At tomb number 32, row number 10, area A, the Album was found with some images and handwritten words named Nguyen Van Thuan or Nguyen Van Tuan along with row number 748903 TA 90 and a portrait photo of a woman. At tomb number 12, row 01, area B, a leather wallet named Dinh Xuan Me was discovered.

Implementing the "Operation 500 Days and Nights" to promote the search, repatriation and identification of martyrs' remains, Sample Team No. 5, Quang Ngai Provincial Military Command is accelerating progress with the determination to complete the task before September 15. Up to now, excavation of 298/420 graves of unidentified martyrs at Ba To Martyrs' Cemetery has been carried out to take biological samples for DNA testing.
