The train convoy was organized by Vietnam Railway Corporation to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day. Nearly 900 passengers on the train, including 400 passengers disembarking from the train at Da Nang station and nearly 500 passengers boarding the train continuing their journey to Hanoi station and Saigon station had an emotional meeting at Da Nang station.
Ms. Hoang Ngan - a passenger from Ho Chi Minh City on the Thong Nhat train emotionally shared the moment the train entered the station to the welcoming of Da Nang City people with brilliant flags and flowers in hand.
Chosing to travel to Da Nang City at this time, my group of friends and I chose the Thong Nhat train and this is truly a different experience. I am very proud to be one of the passengers, to meet the passengers of all three regions of the North Central region on a special day - the day of national reunification. That pride will remind the younger generations like us to be grateful to their ancestors who fell for today's beautiful peace! Ms. Ngan shared.
As for those who welcomed passengers from three regions such as Mr. Phan Thanh Hoang - a veteran in Da Nang City, the pride was multiplied many times.
We are both honored to review the heroic history of the nation with the people of the whole country and even more proud that Da Nang is a place to gather and welcome passengers on the special ship - the Thong Nhat train. At a noon on April 30, colorful flags and flowers everywhere moved everyone and sang the song "Like Uncle Ho on a happy day of great victory" - Mr. Hoang shared.
For the people of Vietnam, the image of the unified train connecting the two South and North has become a symbol of peace, of the joy of winning and reuniting. The train fleet named Thong Nhat train includes: 1 train (SE1) departing from Hanoi station to Saigon station and 1 train (SE4) departing from Saigon station on the evening of April 29.
The train is decorated under the theme of "Thong Nhat Railway - Non Non river immediately" to spread national pride, solidarity, creativity and innovation of Vietnamese businesses. Passengers traveling on Thong Nhat train have lived in the atmosphere of the festival with art programs as revolutionary songs, praising the homeland.
