Speed, quality, early project progress
In just less than 10 months of construction since June 2025, the Phu Quoc APEC Conference and Exhibition Center has almost completed the rough structure, installing 12/13 roof spans. In parallel, the Phu Quoc International Airport expansion project is also accelerating on many key items, showing the capacity to deploy synchronously and drastically in creating large-scale infrastructure, ready for APEC 2027.
At the APEC Multi-functional Complex project cluster, the main items have entered the structural completion phase. According to the plan, the entire exterior of the Multi-functional Performance House project will be completed in October 2026, before entering the interior completion phase, aiming for the overall completion milestone in early 2027, ready for APEC.
With just over 9 months of construction, the project to expand Phu Quoc International Airport is also being accelerated in construction on many key items. Sun Group said that it has joined hands with Aedas Interiors (Singapore), belonging to Aedas and HOK Groups, major architectural and planning units in the world, to design the interior of Terminal T2 and VIP house according to the most modern and high-class standards. In addition, Sun Group joined hands with Changi Airports International to manage and operate Phu Quoc airport. According to the signed agreement, Changi Airports International will directly participate in managing and operating Phu Quoc airport.
In order to speed up progress, the leaders of Phu Quoc special zone have implemented a mobile citizen reception model to remove obstacles in site clearance. The special zone established a working group to deploy propaganda, mobilization and handling of cases of land encroachment and occupation. The leaders of the special zone directly went to people's homes to listen to and resolve obstacles related to site clearance work, thereby directly grasping the thoughts and aspirations of households with land subject to recovery, especially at key projects.

Good infrastructure, a lever to promote tourism
Chairman of Phu Quoc Special Economic Zone People's Committee Tran Minh Khoa said that over the past time, the government has continuously made efforts to review and handle arising violations. Phu Quoc has a Tourism Rapid Response Team and signed a Code of Conduct, marking an important milestone for Phu Quoc's tourism industry.
The tourism rapid response team receives and classifies information reflected by tourists 24/7. Being present in time at the scene to support and connect to resolve cases related to prices, service quality, security and safety for tourists (ensuring at least 2 people on duty are present when receiving information). Guiding procedures according to legal regulations, advising on necessary information for tourists; supporting the search for lost items. In parallel, the infrastructure invested in serving APEC in Phu Quoc will be a lever to promote tourism growth for Pearl Island, connecting and promoting its image closer to international tourists.
