According to Sun Group, the Phu Quoc APEC Conference Center Complex (area of about 16.06ha) is the heart of the APEC 2027 service project chain. The project includes the APEC Exhibition and Convention Center, multi-purpose performance hall, along with the APEC park and synchronous technical infrastructure system, built from June 2025.
By the end of February 2026, after about 9 months, the Conference and Exhibition Center has completed about 90% of the reinforced concrete structure; the roof steel structure has been installed in 7/13 spans on the sea side. At the multi-purpose theater area, the reinforced concrete structure has reached about 80%.

According to the plan, the entire exterior of the project will be completed on June 30, 2026, and the interior will be completed on January 31, 2027. With the current progress, this iconic complex is gradually emerging on the beach. In particular, the convention center will own the world's largest conference room, with an area of 11,050m2, ready to become a space for organizing high-level events and large-scale art programs during and after APEC 2027.
In parallel with the convention center, Phu Quoc International Airport is being invested in expansion with a total investment of nearly 22,000 billion VND, aiming for a capacity of 20 million passengers/year to enter APEC 2027. Starting construction from July 2025, with just over 8 months, the invested items are speeding towards the finish line. In 2026 alone, runway No. 2 is expected to be completed on June 30, passenger terminal T2 (phase 1) will complete the exterior on July 30 and VIP terminal will basically be completed in October 2026.

DT 975 route - a strategic traffic axis nearly 18 km long, scale of 10 lanes, 62m wide roadbed is under construction from September 2025. The project includes expanding 4 bridges, building 8 intersections with synchronous lighting, greenery, and drainage systems. Expected to be completed in July 2027, this route will play a backbone role, connecting airports, convention centers and urban areas, creating a modern landscape - traffic axis for the southern island area.
Directly connected to DT 975 is APEC Avenue, 2.81km long, 68m wide. The nearly 900m sea encroachment section is expected to be implemented from March 2026, aiming to be completed synchronously in July 2027. When completed, this will be the central avenue leading directly to the conference venue, opening up a large-scale coastal urban space.
Parallel to the DT 975 road axis, the Phu Quoc urban subway line with a total investment of 9,000 billion VND is being urgently implemented. The project is entering the construction phase of key items: Airport tunnel has deployed service roads; APEC tunnel is mobilizing bored pile drilling equipment; Overpass section is preparing for construction, erecting a concrete mixing station and a component factory; Geological survey work has reached about 80%.
According to the plan, underground tunnels, bridges and routes will be constructed throughout 2026; stations and depots will be deployed from the second quarter of 2026 and completed in the first half of 2027. When put into operation, the LRT route will connect the airport to the conference center and tourism and entertainment center of Phu Quoc Island South in just 20 minutes, reducing road traffic pressure and elevating the island's urban infrastructure.
For DT 975 route, site clearance is being implemented in parallel with construction. Currently, about 2.4km have not been handed over, concentrated in the sections Km0+000 – Km1+200; Km3+440 – Km4+200 and the 400m connecting section from the airport to Duong Dong. In addition, some locations along the route with a total length of about 2.8km related to business premises and nearly 2.899km through household areas (Km17+680 – Km19+260) are continuing to complete handover procedures.

In general, about 30% of the entire route site cannot be organized for simultaneous construction or has been handed over but there are still technical problems that need to be handled. The Project Management Board has a thematic report on this work and is coordinating with relevant units to accelerate progress, ensuring the goal of completing the entire route by July 2027.
