On the evening of August 26, after the Vietnamese team won the ASEAN Cup 2026 championship, thousands of people in Quang Tri province took to the streets to celebrate.
In Dong Hoi ward, Ly Thuong Kiet, Quang Trung streets and the central area attracted many people. Many people brought national flags, moved by motorbikes and cars and shouted to congratulate the victory of the Vietnamese team.
On Ly Thuong Kiet street connecting to Quang Trung stretching to Ho Chi Minh Square, people gathered crowded on both sides of the road, blending into the flow of vehicles celebrating the championship.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hai (Dong Hoi ward) said that the fact that the Vietnamese team won the championship twice in a row made many fans burst into emotions.
In the final minutes, when the Thai team scored to increase the score to 2-1, although the total score at that time was 3-2 in favor of Vietnam, I was very worried. But then the opponent scored an own goal, the joy really burst out" - Mr. Hai shared.
The celebration atmosphere lasted on many streets in the center of Dong Hoi ward. Crowds continuously moved, many fans shouted together "Vietnam champion".
