On September 11, information from the Nghe An Provincial Traffic Safety Committee said that a section of the median strip on National Highway 1A through Trung Loc Commune (in the old Nghi Loc District) had been closed since September 10 to limit traffic conflicts and ensure safety.
The opening point at Km447+750 has long been a district-level intersection, having had many tragic accidents due to its location near the railway and not far from the self-opened path across the railway. The closure of the median strip opening point is considered necessary to ensure road and railway traffic safety and order.
On September 10, the entire 71m long median strip (from Km447+726 to Km447+797) was sealed with concrete blocks, and the system of signs and painted lines was adjusted to suit the new traffic organization. The construction work was carried out by Road Management and Construction Joint Stock Company 470, with the coordination of the People's Committee and the Trung Loc Commune Police to maintain security and order.
In addition to closing the median strip opening point, the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee also proposed to fence off and permanently close 3 self-opened crossings across the illegal railway in Trung Loc commune before September 15. Local authorities are required to increase propaganda so that people and businesses can agree, contributing to ensuring traffic safety.
