Ho Chi Minh City - Many households in the Binh Tien bridge and road project urgently dismantle houses and hand over land. Among them, some households received more than 15 billion VND in compensation.

People excitedly hand over land

Recorded on Binh Tien street, Binh Tien ward, many households located within the Binh Tien bridge and road project are simultaneously dismantling houses and arranging assets to hand over land. Many houses have been partially dismantled, while the remaining households are completing procedures for relocation.

Mr. Diep Loi, 52 years old, living on Binh Tien street, is one of the households whose houses are within the clearance area. His family has lived here since 2000. According to the compensation plan, about 83 m2 of family land is affected, equivalent to 2/3 of the existing land area.

With a compensation level of about 167 million VND/m2, the total amount my family received is about 15 billion VND, including the construction project compensation," Mr. Loi said.

After handing over the affected area, his family plans to repair the remaining part to continue living. Currently, the family is cleaning up furniture, preparing to dismantle the house to hand over the site immediately after completing the procedures.

Mr. Loi assessed that the compensation and support policy is reasonable. According to him, when the road is expanded, the road surface will be more clear, which will contribute to reducing traffic congestion in the area.

Also within the clearance area, Mr. Vuong Van Hung, living on Binh Tien street, said that the project affects the land area with a depth of about 11-12 m.

The land area of my family is nearly 98 m2, of which 49.6 m2 was recovered. With a compensation unit price of about 167 million VND/m2, my family received more than 8 billion VND," Mr. Hung shared.

Currently, his family still lives on the remaining area. The construction and repair of the house also affects the family's business operations. However, Mr. Hung supports the policy and hopes that the project will be completed soon, so that people can stabilize their lives, restore business operations and normal living.

According to the Binh Tien Ward Construction Investment Project Management Board, there are 121 households affected by the project in the ward. Among them, the case of receiving the highest compensation is with a total amount of more than 15.9 billion VND.

Binh Tien bridge and road construction site is bustling

While many households on Binh Tien street are dismantling houses to hand over land, the construction site of the Binh Tien bridge and road project in Binh Hung commune is also being implemented in locations that already have land.

Recorded here, many machines and workers are gathered at the starting point of the project. According to the Ho Chi Minh City Transport Board, contractors are deploying 6 construction fronts, including 2 bridge construction fronts, 2 road construction fronts, 1 leveling front and 1 bridge construction front at the Nguyen Van Linh - National Highway 50 intersection.

The main route is about 3.66km long, 30-40m wide, with a scale of 4-6 lanes, combined with overpasses; the parallel route is more than 3.3km long, with a scale of 2-6 lanes. The route from Binh Tien - Pham Van Chi intersection passes through Tau Hu canal, Doi canal, Binh Hung area and connects to Nguyen Van Linh street, along with branches connecting Vo Van Kiet, Binh Dong, Hoai Thanh and Ta Quang Buu.

In addition to relocating people's houses, electricity, water supply, and information - telecommunications works are also dismantled and relocated to serve construction. The Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Board is coordinating with localities to receive the entire site no later than October 2026, aiming to complete the project in the second quarter of 2028.

When completed, the project is expected to reduce traffic pressure, shorten travel time from the center of Ho Chi Minh City to the South and increase connectivity with the regional transportation network.
