On June 27, according to a quick report from the People's Committee of Que Son Trung commune, Da Nang - a thunderstorm accompanied by heavy rain occurred in the area, causing heavy property damage to people.
Preliminary statistics show that the whole commune recorded up to 35 houses having their partial and total roofs blown off by thunderstorms, scattered throughout the villages: Xuan Thuong, Cang Dong, Phu Da, Khanh Duc, Trung Ha, Dong Thanh, An Thanh, Thach Khe.
Among them, Xuan Thuong village suffered the heaviest damage when up to 24 households had their roofs blown away by the wind, and many assets inside were soaked and damaged.
Many livestock barns of people have also collapsed, some areas of acacia trees and melaleuca leaves that are in harvest season and many long-term fruit orchards of people have been broken across their trunks and uprooted by the wind.
The locality mobilized police and military forces to coordinate with youth unions to directly go to each household to help collect corrugated iron, re-roof houses, shield damaged property, and clear fallen trees to clear traffic and ensure safety.
Leaders of Que Son Trung Commune People's Committee said that the locality prioritizes stabilizing housing for people in the immediate future. At the same time, review and statistically assess damage to have plans to support people in a timely manner and stabilize their lives.
