On July 29, the Sub-Department of Livestock and Aquaculture of Dong Nai City coordinated with Tri An Ward Police to make a record of temporarily seizing 219 pigs suspected of being positive for the banned substance Salbutamol; and at the same time sent samples for testing to Ho Chi Minh City for quantification, waiting for results.
Previously, on July 28, the Sub-Department of Livestock and Aquaculture of Dong Nai city established a team to verify the case of 201 pigs testing positive for the banned substance Salbutamol discovered while on their way from Dong Nai to Ho Chi Minh City and discovered a warehouse owner (transit point, collecting pigs before departure) in KP7, Vinh An town, Vinh Cuu district (now Tri An ward, Dong Nai city). After conducting rapid sampling, all 10 pigs in this warehouse tested positive for the banned substance Salbutamol.
From this transfer point, the team continued to trace the origin and determined that there were 2 pig farms nearby. Initially, determining that 1 farm was empty, and 1 farm had 209 pigs, the team took 4 urine samples for rapid testing, all positive for the banned substance Salbutamol.
Previously, on July 26, 2026, the Rach Chiec Traffic Police Team working group under the Traffic Police Department (PC08) of Ho Chi Minh City Police coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh City quarantine force to organize inspections and handling on roads under their responsibility.
The inter-sectoral team stopped and inspected 15 vehicles including vehicles carrying livestock, poultry and frozen food.
In which, a truck with license plate 60K-955xx driven by Mr. V.N. H (40 years old, permanently residing in Lam Dong province) carrying 86 pigs and a truck with license plate 64H-051xx driven by Mr. T.K. B (42 years old, permanently residing in Vinh Long province) carrying 115 pigs were found circulating from Dong Nai city to Dong Hoa ward, Ho Chi Minh City for slaughter.
Through working, Mr. H. and Mr. B. both presented quarantine certificates issued by the Dong Nai City Sub-Department of Livestock and Aquaculture on July 26, 2026, and documents related to the origin of the above livestock.
Conducting rapid testing, batch 201 of the above-mentioned pigs tested positive for the banned substance Salbutamol.
The working group proceeded to make a record of work and coordinated to escort the shipment to a testing facility in the Cu Chi district (old) area to hand it over to Thu Duc Quarantine Center for further clarification and handling according to regulations.
