At around 9:00 p.m., traffic police discovered Mr. N.T.D (born in 1972) driving through a checkpoint with signs of suspected alcohol use, so they stopped the vehicle for inspection.

At this time, Mr. D said he had drunk about 2-3 cans of beer before and was on his way home. "I know that I can't drive after drinking beer, but I was still sober. Taking a motorbike taxi would be a waste of money, and I wouldn't have a car to go to work tomorrow, so I decided to drive home myself," Mr. D said.
Working with the traffic police, Mr. D was also unable to present his driver's license or vehicle registration. The traffic police then proceeded to issue an administrative fine and temporarily impound Mr. D's vehicle.
For this violation, Mr. D will be fined 2.5 million VND, have his driver's license revoked for 11 months and have his vehicle impounded for 7 days.

Mr. T then agreed to sign the violation report, but he said he would abandon the car. "If I can't sell this car for 4.5 million VND now, I will abandon it," Mr. T said.
