In the Binh Di River area, the section passing C3 bridge, Nhon Hoi commune, An Giang province, where water from the Mekong River flows into Bung Binh Thien, we found it very interesting to witness the two water colors appearing clearly separated.
According to research from elders in the area, this phenomenon is actually like a "stifling meeting" between two water flows with completely different natures.
Accordingly, in the flood season, water from upstream flows back carrying a large amount of soil, sand, and alluvium, so it is both heavy, thick and has a characteristic reddish-brown color. Meanwhile, water from Bung Binh Thien is calm lake water, both light, clear and retains its dark blue color.
When two opposite "personalities" meet, due to the difference in nature, they cannot merge into one immediately, thereby creating a natural boundary dividing the two distinct water colors on the river surface.
It is known that Bung Binh Thien is a famous natural freshwater lake in the Southwest region. Bung Gate is directly connected to the Binh Di River, closely associated with the lives of the local community. And for the people here, rivers and flood seasons are a familiar part of life.
In general, the water boundary is not fixed but changes flexibly according to the tide. Ms. Tran Thi Ha Vy (Nhon Hoi commune) - said that when the water level changes, the boundary line between the two water colors also shifts up or down, creating a special scene on the river surface.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai (Nhon Hoi commune) shared: "Living here for decades, every high water season this phenomenon appears and is most easily seen. Sometimes the boundaries are very clear, standing on the bridge looking down you can see it immediately. For people here, looking closely becomes familiar, but passersby stop to watch because they find it strange".
In the middle of the high tide season, this miraculous intersection has painted a unique natural picture, without any arrangement.
