In the Kenh Ga village area, Gia Vien commune, from August 23, heavy rain combined with the rising water level of the Hoang Long River caused hundreds of houses and a Gia Vien Primary School to be deeply flooded.


On August 26, records of Lao Dong Newspaper reporters showed that floodwaters had begun to recede, officials, teachers and parents at a school point of Gia Vien Primary School in Kenh Ga village were taking advantage of the time to clean up, mud and soil to prepare conditions for the new school year opening ceremony.
From early morning, dozens of officials, teachers and parents were busy cleaning and rearranging tables and chairs to prepare to enter the new school year.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha - Principal of Gia Vien Primary School - said that as soon as the floodwaters receded, teachers and parents focused on cleaning up, mud, and rearranging tables and chairs to prepare conditions for the new school year.

Currently, the water has not completely receded from the school gate area and part of the schoolyard. With the spirit of cleaning up as soon as the water recedes. We plan to continue to mobilize more forces to clean up tomorrow" - Ms. Ha shared.


Also according to Ms. Ha, there are currently 260 students at the school point. According to the plan to organize the new school year of Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee, tomorrow (August 27), first-grade students will return to school, and students of grades 2, 3, 4, 5 will return to school on September 3. However, because some roads to the school point are still deeply flooded, the return to school schedule must be postponed.
After cleaning up, the school will carry out disinfection and hopes to welcome students back to school on September 3rd" - Ms. Ha said.
