Workers unanimously stick to the project ahead of schedule
The freshwater reservoir infrastructure project in Vinh Long is a key project, of great significance in ensuring water sources for production and daily life for people, especially in the context of increasingly complex climate change. Right from the time of implementation, the project has received consensus and positive response from engineers, workers and laborers at the construction site.
Mr. Bui Xuan Thao - a project construction worker said that he clearly recognizes the practical significance of the project for the lives of local people. When completed, the reservoir will not only contribute to regulating water sources but also create a spacious landscape with a wide and synchronous embankment system.

According to Mr. Thao, that meaning helps each worker have more motivation and consciously improve their sense of responsibility in construction. "We are always aware that this is a long-term project, serving the community, so we try to work carefully, ensuring proper techniques so that the project achieves quality and progress," Mr. Thao shared.
Working directly at the construction site, Mr. Phan Thanh Trung said that the prolonged hot weather has caused many difficulties for workers. However, none of the workers have given up but still maintain continuous construction.
There are sunny days, but the brothers still work all day, overtime at night to keep up with the schedule. During the day, they use windbreakers and wide-brimmed hats to reduce heat and ensure health," Mr. Trung said.
Flexible construction, proactively overcoming material difficulties
Mr. Hoang Huan - Commander of the construction site of the freshwater reservoir infrastructure project in Vinh Long province said that the project implementation process encountered some difficulties in terms of weather and supply of construction materials, including a period of stone shortage lasting about 10 days.
During this time, the unit proactively adjusted the plan, switching to constructing items that are not dependent on rock such as excavating soil, making iron, digging pits to drive piles and other foundation work. This flexible approach helps the project not to be interrupted, still maintaining a stable construction pace.
After the material source was supplied again, the unit quickly increased equipment and manpower and organized overtime construction to compensate for the affected progress. Thanks to that, many important items still ensured the overall progress, even exceeding the set plan.
According to Mr. Huan, proactively managing and flexible construction plans is a key factor to help the project overcome difficulties and maintain progress in unfavorable construction conditions.

Mr. Lam Hoang Vu - Vinh Long Provincial Agricultural Project Management Board, the project investor, said that the freshwater reservoir infrastructure package has a total investment of 860 billion VND. Up to now, the disbursement progress has reached about 30%, while the actual construction volume has reached more than 30% compared to the plan.
Notably, compared to the initial plan, the current construction progress is exceeding by about 8-10%. According to the plan, the project is expected to be completed and put into use in the fourth quarter of 2027, but the construction unit is making efforts to shorten the time, striving to complete it in the first quarter of 2027.
Mr. Vu assessed that this result shows the great efforts of the units participating in the project in the context of many difficulties in weather and construction materials.
