People face risk of accidents
The project to upgrade infrastructure in the Tong Phuoc Pho street area (Hoa Cuong ward, Da Nang) is under construction, the road surface is plowed messy, red mud is muddy, making people's movement difficult. The digging points are only temporarily hung with warning ropes, lacking night lighting systems.
Mr. Ngo Truong Tho (resident of Tong Phuoc Pho street) shared: "Every time it rains heavily, the roads are muddy, making it very easy for students to move and glide. More worrying is that manholes and excavation points lack barriers as well as warning signs. Traffic participants are very likely to fall into pits, and the risk of traffic accidents is inevitable.
Sharing the same worry, Mr. Vo Duc Son (resident of Tong Phuoc Pho street) said: "All households in this area are very worried. We are afraid that when heavy rain falls, water accompanied by red mud will flood into the house, damaging walls and belongings. Previously, only rainwater was easy to wash, but red mud accumulated was very difficult to clean up. Meanwhile, the rainy and flood season is very near.
Inadequate construction also caused many unfortunate accidents to occur in this area. Ms. Pham Thi Minh Ngoc angrily said: "Recently, there was a case of a student falling and breaking his leg. I myself was also a victim when my motorbike skied on sand, causing me to fall and hit my face on the road, suffering injuries and having to be hospitalized for treatment. This road has recorded many people falling similarly.
Unable to fight flooding, already feel insecure
The project to upgrade technical infrastructure around Tong Phuoc Pho street is invested to renovate the drainage system, upgrade technical infrastructure, handle flooding, reduce environmental pollution and improve people's living conditions. The project has a total investment of more than 29.5 billion VND from the city budget, invested by the Da Nang Traffic and Agricultural Construction Investment Project Management Board. The main items include traffic, drainage, water supply and green trees.
Discussing the inadequacies of the project, Mr. Truong Thanh Dung - Chairman of Hoa Cuong Ward People's Committee - said that this technical infrastructure upgrade project is under the authority of the city and is invested by the Project Management Board for Investment and Construction of Transport and Agricultural Works. The Ward People's Committee has fully summarized the voters' feedback to report to the City People's Committee. Currently, the city has received and issued documents directing relevant units to inspect and return the site safely before the rainy and storm season.
