Erosion repair on Da Nang beach expected in 7 days

Da Nang - To overcome the landslide of My Khe beach, Son Tra district, the City People's Committee mobilized hundreds of people to build temporary barriers.

According to the Management Board of Investment and Construction Projects for Agricultural and Rural Development in Da Nang City, there are currently 2 units implementing the construction; at the same time, responding with on-site forces, putting sandbags in steel baskets to ensure connection, constructing about 3 layers.

"We are trying to speed up the progress as much as possible. It is expected that within 5-7 days, we will complete the repair," said the leader of the Management Board of Investment and Construction Projects for Agricultural and Rural Development in Da Nang City.

Currently, the beach areas of Son Tra and Ngu Hanh Son districts are being eroded by waves with a length of about 500m. Among the landslide locations, the most serious is the section of more than 100m on My Khe beach, Phuoc My ward, Son Tra district. After receiving instructions from the leaders of Da Nang City People's Committee, the unit deployed forces to take advantage of the time to build temporary embankments to hold the coast.

Regarding the long-term plan, the Management Board of Investment Projects for Construction of Agricultural Works and Rural Development of Da Nang City said it will build concrete embankments to protect the coast.
