On February 24, Huong Son Commune People's Committee coordinated with Son Giang commune to organize the opening ceremony of the Hai Thuong Lan Ong Festival and the traditional boat racing festival on the Ngan Pho River in 2026.
Participating in the boat racing festival are 15 teams with 250 athletes, including 9 men's teams and 6 women's teams from communes in the Huong Son area.
Immediately after the opening ceremony, the teams entered the competition in a lively and exciting atmosphere. The tournament had a large number of people and tourists excitedly watching and cheering, creating a bustling atmosphere along both banks of the Ngan Pho River.
With the spirit of solidarity, honesty, and nobility, the athletes dedicated dramatic chases to the audience, showing strength, endurance and high determination.
At the end of the tournament, the organizing committee awarded the first prize to the men's inter-village team 1, 2, 3 (Huong Son commune) and the women's team of Son Kim 2 commune; the second prize belonged to the men's team of Son Giang commune and the women's team of Son Kim 1 commune; the third prize was awarded to the men's team of Son Kim 2 commune and the women's team of inter-villages 1, 2, 3 (Huong Son commune).
The traditional boat race festival on the Ngan Pho River is one of the key activities in the series of events of the Hai Thuong Lan Ong Festival in 2026.
The festival is a unique spring cultural feature of the locality, creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere in the first days of the new year.
