The above information was released by the Traffic Police Department (CSGT) of the Ministry of Public Security on February 24.
According to a representative of the Traffic Police Department, in the early spring atmosphere of Binh Ngo 2026, when people from the Mekong Delta provinces return to Ho Chi Minh City to work after the Tet holiday, the traffic volume on the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong expressway increases sharply, posing a potential risk of prolonged congestion.
Implementing the peak plan to ensure traffic order and safety of the Traffic Police Department, Highway Traffic Police Team No. 7 has deployed a traffic regulation plan:
5pm - 12pm on February 22nd (evening of the 6th day of Tet); Application direction: From Trung Luong to Ho Chi Minh City.
During this time, traffic police forces guide vehicles to the emergency stop lane to relieve traffic pressure, ensure continuous traffic flow, and limit congestion.
Representatives of the Traffic Police Department affirmed that it is a temporary regulation plan, organized tightly and directly controlled by the traffic police force. Traffic in the emergency stop lane is only applied according to orders in the area and specific time.
Accordingly, vehicles moving according to traffic police's orders and directives will not be penalized, even through the traffic monitoring system.
Image data from the monitoring system will be compared with the regulation plan that has been implemented, people who comply with the instructions will not be fined remotely," the Traffic Police Department said.
With the highest goal of ensuring safety and creating convenience for people to move smoothly, the above announcement by functional forces is to reassure drivers when traveling, no longer worrying about being fined when following instructions.
