On May 23, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee worked with representatives of the Ministry of Construction on evaluating the results of completion acceptance to put into operation the section from Km0+000 to Km22+000 of Component Project 1 of the Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot expressway.
Component project 1 is managed by Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee as the managing agency, the Provincial Agricultural and Transport Construction Investment Project Management Board as the investor, with a length of nearly 32km with a total investment of about 5,333 billion VND.
The route passes through the areas of Ninh Hoa, Tan Dinh, Hoa Tri and Tay Ninh Hoa.
In the process of implementation, Khanh Hoa province has coordinated with units under the Ministry of Construction to focus on site clearance, quality control and construction progress.
To date, construction package No. 1 has basically completed the main items and will be technically opened to traffic on December 19, 2025.
At the same time, the investor has completed the traffic organization plan to serve the acceptance and temporary operation of the first 22km of the route on May 22nd and 23rd, 2026, nearly 1 month ahead of schedule.
Mr. Le Huyen said that the 22km section is an important transport infrastructure project, opening up a new development space for Khanh Hoa and the Central Highlands region; contributing to reducing logistics costs, increasing connectivity between seaports, industrial parks and promoting inter-regional tourism development.
According to the leader of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, the locality will continue to direct the investor and contractors to complete the smart transportation system and accelerate the progress of the remaining route sections.
At the same time, coordinate with the Vietnam Road Administration to develop a scientific traffic organization plan to ensure safe operation.
Speaking at the working session, Deputy Minister of Construction Le Anh Tuan highly appreciated the direction of Khanh Hoa province and the efforts of the investor and contractors in completing the first 22km of the route early, meeting technical requirements to put it into temporary operation.
The Deputy Minister of Construction requested the investor to coordinate with relevant units to review the traffic sign system, traffic lights and traffic diversion plans.
At the same time, accelerate the construction progress of the remaining 10km, striving to complete the completion dossier before June 30, 2026 for official handover.
In addition, units need to regularly monitor taluy slopes, bridges and cliffs, especially during the rainy and flood season; strengthen propaganda to help people protect traffic infrastructure, not arbitrarily dismantle fences or bring motorbikes onto highways, causing traffic unsafety.
