On February 12, a serious electrical accident occurred in Dien Chau commune (Nghe An province) when 3 young men were electrocuted while erecting a bamboo Neu tree in front of their house.
According to initial information, 3 victims aged 18–20, residing in Dien Chau commune, built ladders and coordinated to erect a bamboo tree more than 12m long to welcome the traditional Tet. During the process of raising the Neu tree high, the bamboo top suddenly got caught in the 35kV medium-voltage power line, causing all 3 to be electrocuted and fall to the road surface in critical condition.
