On August 7, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Lâm Đồng Province cooperated with relevant authorities to work with local residents related to the mass death of dairy cows.
According to information from relevant authorities, as of now, Lâm Đồng Province has administered a total of over 31,000 doses of vaccine, with approximately 10,000 doses administered to dairy cows.
Immediately after the mass death of dairy cows occurred, the Lâm Đồng Department of Livestock, Veterinary Medicine and Aquatic Products directed localities to stop administering vaccines for the prevention of skin disease and nodules.
At the same time, the unit dispatched officials to cooperate with localities to treat dairy cows showing abnormal health symptoms.
The leader of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Lâm Đồng Province stated that the unit will send a document to the Veterinary Department (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development), requesting that samples of the vaccine administered be tested for quality, and a plan for handling the situation be proposed.
Mr. Hoàng Sỹ Bích, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Lâm Đồng Province, informed that on August 8, the Tây Nguyên Region Veterinary Office will visit Lâm Đồng to conduct an epidemiological investigation and cooperate in the treatment work.
"After testing, if the results show that the cause is indeed due to the vaccine as reported by the people, the vaccine supplier will compensate for the losses," Mr. Bích added.
