Ho Chi Minh City - After many years with potholes and craters, the Lo Lu road upgrade and expansion project is gradually being completed, bringing a spacious urban appearance to the area.

For many years, Lo Lu street has been considered a nightmare for people in Long Phuoc ward (HCMC). This arterial road connecting from La Xuan Oai to Nguyen Xien is inherently seriously degraded, the road surface is narrow and often under great traffic pressure, causing frequent congestion and flooding.

To remove this bottleneck, the Lo Lu road upgrade and expansion project has been implemented with a total investment of more than 755 billion VND from the city budget. The project has a total length of more than 2 km, divided into 2 main sections. In which, section 1 is more than 1.7 km long (from La Xuan Oai to Lap bridge) and section 2 is 267 m long (from Chum Chup bridge to Nguyen Xien street).

According to records, up to now, the appearance of the road has changed significantly. At section 2 (from road No. 6 to Nguyen Xien), the main items such as sidewalks, trees and the first asphalt pavement have been basically completed. The image of the previously muddy road has been replaced by a wide, flat road surface.

Representatives of the Thu Duc City Area Construction Investment Project Management Board said that the unit and contractors are focusing maximum resources to ensure progress.

At section 1 (from La Xuan Oai to road No. 6), after 8 months of construction (starting from the end of June 2025), the drainage system, curb part and asphalt layer 1 of the road surface have also been completed.

Mr. Nguyen Van Nam, a resident living in the area, excitedly shared: "A few years ago, going through this road was very hard, especially on heavy rainy days, cars stalled continuously. Now the road is wide, asphalt is flat, everyone is happy. This Tet, going to wish Tet to relatives, I no longer worry about mud.

According to the plan, the remaining items such as green trees and the lighting system of section 1 will continue to be implemented immediately after Tet to complete the entire project in 2026.

The completion of Lo Lu road not only solves the problem of congestion and flooding in Long Phuoc ward but also plays an important role in connecting inter-regional traffic infrastructure of Thu Duc City area (formerly). This is the premise for promoting trade, socio-economic development and improving the quality of life for households in the area.
