According to Lao Dong's records on the first day of the new year (January 1, 2025), on the roads that are often crowded with traffic in Ho Chi Minh City such as 3 Thang 2, Nguyen Tri Phuong (District 10), Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, Vo Thi Sau (District 3), Nam Ky Khoi Nghia, Hai Ba Trung, Le Duan (District 1)... are airy, clean, and have little traffic. All activities of the people take place slowly and peacefully, completely different from the bustling daily life.
Ms. Luong Hong Tham (residing in Go Vap district) said that this year, the New Year is close to the Lunar New Year, so she and her family chose to stay in Ho Chi Minh City for spring travel.
"I feel very excited, the spring atmosphere has filled the streets, the roads are quieter, maybe because last night everyone went to watch the fireworks and came home late," said Ms. Hong Tham.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Cong (residing in Thu Duc City) shared that he felt the atmosphere in Ho Chi Minh City during Tet was very fresh and peaceful.
"This morning, Ho Chi Minh City is chilly, the weather is fresh and pleasant, so I plan to meet relatives and friends after taking a look around the city to start the new year," Mr. Cong happily said.
At the bus stations and Tan Son Nhat airport, everything is airy, from the check-in counters of airlines to the waiting area leading to the departure gate, everything is airy, even empty.
Tan Son Nhat International Airport informed that the total number of flights expected to operate on New Year's Day, January 1, 2025 is 675 flights, the total number of passengers expected is 105,478 people. Of which, there are 335 departure flights, 340 arrival flights, and this year the number of departing passengers is expected to be less than the number of arriving passengers.
